'INNOVATIONS IN FLIGHT' BRANDING
Inviting the public to explore and learn about the history and future of flight, our team developed a custom graphic brand and logo centered around a gear and motor theme—a subtle nod to the inventive spirit surrounding the basis of flight.

We designed postcards, print ads and web ads to promote Family Day at the Museum. The ads incorporated the gear and motor theme and photographs to create a call-to-action with the viewer.

'SHE CAN' BRAND DEVELOPMENT
To create interest and appeal with students while promoting its STEAM aviation experiential learning program among young girls, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum needed a strong, recognizable brand. Understanding the types of experiences students participate in — a balloon launch, flight simulation, indoor skydiving, visits to the Federal Aviation Administration and air traffic control, and culminating in a discovery flight in a Cessna plane — the logo represents a military fighter pilot patch, the Cessna plane and bold, Americana colors. Our team designed the logo for use on collateral and as a flight suit patch for program participants.

TEACHER INNOVATOR INSTITUTE PROGRAM LOGO
To promote NASM’s Teacher Innovator Institute, a program that helps select teachers across the country learn new methods for teaching science in their classrooms, our team designed a logo that incorporated elements of the Smithsonian brand and encompassed developments in technology from early flight transportation to current innovations. We created the logo for use on a variety of applications — such as embroidered wear or promotional items — to provide consistency for teachers serving as program ambassadors.

Understanding NASM’s approach to education and public engagement focuses on connecting their content with people beyond the museum walls, our team created a patch to serve as a promotional leave-behind item at events and programs. The design incorporates elements of the Smithsonian brand and illustrates how far we’ve come in flight technology.
